Jean-Pierrre, dit Jan, Van Looy (Tournai, 1882 - 1971) was a Belgian painter, student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. His work, mainly landscapes of Campine and Brabant, is linked to the school of Tervuren. Here we find the work on the pattern, the thick material and the range typical of this school between Realism and Impressionism. Jan Van Looy was also an etcher and watercolourist. Works in Belgian museums (Tournai, Ghent, Malines) and in Paris at the Center Pompidou.
