The Brussels painter Ernest Godfrinon (Ixelles, 1878 - Schaerbeeck, 1927) was a member of the group Le Sillon, a group attached to the tradition of Realism and admiring the work of Velasquez (more information here). This female nude painted around 1905-10 perfectly illustrates this aesthetic with a generous paste and an echo of the nudes of Velasquez or Manet (about Olympia by Manet, click here).
